I spent about a year working for a company that produced stand-up arcade games using light-guns. The game we created allowed the players to shoot targets in different themed challenges.
Our design challenge was to create a light-gun game that could work on an existing board many arcade operators already had, so they could simply swap out the chip and the cabinet graphics and refresh the game, at a lower cost than buying a new machine.
I worked on the overall interface, designed about half of the challenges, and produced many of the animations for the interface and the challenges, particularly the pirate, horror and alien levels.
